“State of play on sectoral integration and sustainable maritime planning in the Mediterranean” delivered at the Tunis MEDIGREEN workshop

On 26 November 2025, the MEDIGREEN workshop was held in Tunis, organised with the support of the University of Sfax, a project partner. The event, set within the context of WestMED blue economy initiative, brought together Tunisian institutions, Mediterranean partners and experts for an important discussion on maritime spatial planning and more sustainable management of maritime activities.

Martina Bocci (CORILA) delivered a presentation on the “State of play on sectoral integration and sustainable maritime planning in the Mediterranean”. The same session also provided an opportunity to explore key issues concerning:

  1. how we can ensure the sustainable growth of marine sectors (fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energy etc.)
  2. what are the data and institutional needs to support marine resource management

It was an important opportunity to discuss practical solutions and promote and strengthen cross-border cooperation for a sustainable Mediterranean.
