BIOPRESSADRIA featured in La Repubblica: protecting seagrass meadows and their role in the ecosystem

The Italian newspaper La Repubblica (October 3, 2025) highlights the work of CORILA and its commitment to combining scientific research and environmental protection in the Venice Lagoon.

Among the featured initiatives is the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme project BIOPRESSADRIA, which focuses on protecting the Adriatic’s marine seagrass meadows, key allies against coastal erosion, #biodiversity loss, and #climatechange.

Marine seagrass meadows, such as Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa, are a true treasure of the Adriatic: they capture CO₂, protect coasts, enhance biodiversity, and support fisheries.
