Conference “MOSE and the others: defense from storm surges in the world”.

 

 

MOSE as a worldwide best practice for the protection of cities from rising sea levels and tidal phenomena is the theme of the meeting that inaugurates the Sustainability Biennial. In fact, the MOSE system, accompanied by a wide range of other measures implemented in the lagoon and on the islands along the coast, has effectively defended Venice since October 2020. On this occasion, the path taken in recent years that has made Venice a city will be presented. safer and a model for others around the world facing similar problems.
Other defense systems in Europe and in the world will also be presented and their operational experience will be discussed in a workshop attended by the direct managers of their management supported by international experts. The work agenda will be completed by speeches by authoritative representatives of local, national and European institutions.
Participation in this event is by invitation only. The meeting will be held in English and Italian, with simultaneous translation.
