Research Programme Venezia2021. Final Conference. 12.01.2023

The Final Event of the Venezia2021 Research Program will be held on 12 January 2023 at the “Danilo Mainardi” Auditorium, Ca’ Foscari Campus, via Torino 155, Mestre-Venice.

The final results of the Program will be illustrated in the conference.

Venezia2021 is a scientific research program coordinated by CORILA, which has provided for an integrated complex of observational tools and for processing the data collected, at the state of the art of knowledge, in order to contribute to the correct balance of the lagoon ecosystem. In this way it will also be possible to safeguard the benefits for society (ecosystem services) provided by the lagoon.
Furthermore, in the current phase of commissioning of the MOSE System, operational to defend against high waters since October 2020, Venezia2021 has contributed to the development of new “scenarios”, to support defense strategies.
The research program was launched on 1 November 2018 and ended on 30 June 2022. It was financed by the Interregional Superintendency for Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia of the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility, as part of the works for the safeguard of Venice and its lagoon and also coordinates operationally with them.
Venezia2021 involved more than 200 researchers from CORILA member institutions: Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, IUAV University of Venice, University of Padua, the National Research Council and the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics.
