The GreenHull project, supported by the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia cooperation program financed by the European Regional Development Fund, has developed an integrated system for the removal of biofouling from the hulls of boats consisting of a ROV – Remotely Operated Vehicle equipped with a cleaning module and a modular purification plant capable of operating in a “circular logic” and in compliance with legal requirements. In addition, as part of the project, an additional cleaning module has been developed, which can be assembled on the ROV and used for the removal of encrustations from submerged structures and barriers (3rd innovative green technology).<\/p>\n

In addition to developing a system which, although prototypical, has shown its basic validity, the project partners have developed guidelines for the use of this technology as well as developing solutions for cross-border management of water and material resulting from the cleaning operations of biological encrustations through said system and to be treated as hazardous waste.<\/p>\n

The results of the GreenHull project will be presented at the final conference to be held at the Congress Hall of the NIB – National Institute of Biology, partner of the project.<\/p>\n

The public conference, an opportunity to learn about the project outcomes, will include a demonstration session of the system for the removal of biofouling in a controlled environment, during which the participants will have the opportunity to \u201ctouch\u201d what has been developed.<\/p>\n

The SS.LL. they are invited to the public presentation and the subsequent demonstration of the integrated system, as scheduled.<\/p>\n

Speakers are requested to attend the event in person, while the public can follow the workshop both face to face and online.<\/p>\n
