GreenHull. Final conference in Piran. 09.2022

The GreenHulll project, supported by the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia cooperative program financed by the European Regional Development Fund, of which CORILA is a partner, ended on Friday in Piran, at the Nacionalni inštitut za biologijo.

GreenHull has developed an innovative integrated system for a fast removal of biological encrustations (#biofouling) from the hulls of boats and from submerged surfaces, without resorting to the storage of the #boat and without releasing polluting material into the water, thanks to a #ROV with cleaning system, connected to a modular wastewater #depuration plant capable of operating in a “circular logic” and in compliance with the legal requirements.

GreenHull is a smart alternative for the removal of biofouling, allowing the cleaning of boats totally in the water, without the need to lift them, with consequent # savings in time and costs. It also reduces #fuel consumption, because – thanks to the elimination of biofouling – the friction of the ship is reduced: by removing the encrustations, in fact, the #emissions of exhaust gases decrease by up to 12%. GreenHull’s technology can be applied not only on hulls, but also on all man-made underwater structures and submerged fixed reefs.
