obsAIRveYourBusiness is funded under the framework program for innovation and competitiveness (CIP), and is part of the EMMIA (European Mobile and Mobility Industries Alliance) initiatives.

The project lasts 18 months (from June 2014 to November 2015) and the total cost of the project for CORILA is € 81,525.87, The Commission contribution is € 57,068.11.

The goal is to develop an application for monitoring air quality in cities. The application will make information about the major pollutants in the air (Ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and PM10) available on smartphones. The application integrates satellite data (earth observation and satellite navigation) and data collected in situ and should be mainly dedicated to the needs of local administrations.

The objective of the call is in fact to promote the development of downstream applications that use data from the European COPERNICUS and EGNOS / GALILEO programs.

CORILA is part of the consortium as an associate member of the European network NEREUS (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies) and leader of the NEREUS WG on GNSS.

The project is coordinated by the bavAIRia e.V. and includes the following partners: the German Space Agency (DLR), GAF AG, Airparif, the Augsburg Region, CORILA and INNOVA.
