VII CORILA Annual Meeting

The seventh CORILA Annual Meeting will be held in Venice, at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti, Palazzo Franchetti, on 6 and 7 July 2009.
This year the Annual Meeting will be dedicated to the launch of the new Research Programme carried out by CORILA in cooperation with the Venice Water Authority.
During the meeting will be presented the results of the second CORILA Research Programme and the results of the European Projects.
The meeting is also dedicated to introduce the activities developed within the Monitoring Plan of the effects of construction activities of the Mose system, and the drawing of the new Morphological Plan of the Venice Lagoon.

GIS4EU

The GIS4EU Project will present its preliminary in  two important Workshops!

They will be held during the 11th GSDI World Conference in Rotterdam at the World Trade Center from 15th to 19th June 2009. This World Conference is dedicated to the theme of “Spatial Data Infrastructure Convergence: Building SDI Bridges to Address Global Challenges”.
In this context the first Workshop 2.3 - will introduce GIS4EU Project trough "Tools and Experiences in Implementing INSPIRE Data Specifications II: GIS4EU and Operational Validation of the INSPIRE Common Data Models". The second Workshop 3.4– “Lessons Learned and Best Practices from GI-SDI Projects II: Examples of eContentplus Projects”. Five co-funded EC projects and the GIS4EU Project that will be presented. Aim of these Workshops is to transfer knowledge, discuss the methodologies applied, lessons learnt and best practices identified.i

LITTORAL 2008. IX INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS
“A changing coast: challenge for the environmental policies”

The IX LITTORAL Congress, organised by CORILA, will be held on November 26-28,in the “San Giovanni Evangelista Great School”, in Venice.
Among the Congress themes there are the aspects of climatic changes in the coastal zones, the interaction between man and nature, the implementation of European policies and directive, the safeguard of the cultural heritage.

WORKSHOP on "The climate in the Venetian and North Adriatic region: variability, trends and change"

The Workshop, organised by CORILA and Magistrato alle Acque, will be held in Venice, at the Instituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Palazzo Franchetti, from October 27 to 29, 2008. The aim of the workshop is to review and discuss climate change issues at regional "North Adriatic" scale. The topics of the workshops are the following: "Historical climatology and past climate", "North Adriatic sea level and circulation: variability and trends", "Land montions and relative sea level", "Storminess, waves and storm surge", "Regional climate change". The deadline for registration is October 20.

XXXII IAHR CONGRESS and Coastal Structures 2007 CONFERENCE

The 32nd biennial Congress of IAHR (International Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research), held in Lido di Venezia from 1 to 6 July, has been organized by CORILA in cooperation with the University of Padua - IMAGE Department and the University of Bologna.
The biennial Congress is one of the most important event in the field of water and related disciplines; the theme of the 32nd IAHR Congress is "Harmonizing the demands of Art and Nature in Hydraulics".
The Congress sets a record of participations with more than 900 delegates plus 300 delegates of the 5th International Conference on Costal Structures (CSt07), held in parallel from 1 to 4 July. More than 1200 people attend the Events : students, hydraulic engineers, researchers and professors.

ENCORA 1st Thematic Network CONFERENCE

The Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Consortium for Coordination of Research Activities Concerning the Venice Lagoon System (CORILA), are organizing a
conference on the socio economic impacts on coastal zones and their evaluation in a context of integrated coastal zone management. The conference is part of the activities of the thematic network “Multifunctionality and Valuation” within ENCORA, the European Platform for sharing knowledge and experience in coastal science, policy and practice.
